Hunter Valley in New South Wales is known throughout the world for its incredible wine – in fact, there are over one hundred and twenty wineries here! You'll therefore be unsurprised to learn that the majority of the things to see and do around here revolve around (you've guessed it): wine. Whether it is bicycle rides through gorgeously green vineyards, hot air balloons overlooking the entire area, or the more standard wine tasting tour, if you don't like wine, there's probably not much point in you coming here.
Where is Hunter Valley located
Found just off the B84, it should be pretty simple for you to get to Hunter Valley, and if you are thinking of coming, then the autumn is probably the best time: that is when the majority of the grapes have been grown, and everyone is enjoying the fruit (geddit?) of their labour. One popular thing to do here in Hunter Valley is to take a tour of their area on horseback. This allows you to really engage with nature and the landscape around you. The adventure junkies around you can jump out a plane and parachute down, or even take a ride in a fighter jet. If exercise doesn't interest you, then perhaps the Cedar Mount View spa will – the wonderful chance to do absolutely nothing surrounded by the most amazing views.
Where to eat
After a busy day, why not treat yourself to a meal at Boy-O-Boy Restaurant, where the menu completely alters every week depending on what is available locally. If you have a particularly sweet tooth, then Sabor in the Hunter is for you. This place only serves wine and dessert, which sounds right up our street.
Nightlife in Hunter Valley
The Hunter Valley region isn't particularly known for its nightlife, but with more wineries than anyone knows what to do with, we're sure that you can find a way to pass the time...
